What to expect
A highland estate of farms, forests, rushing rivers and high heather hills, Glenlivet is at the heart of Scotland's whisky country, providing an excellent base for outdoor activities and touring. Surrounded by hills and sheltered from the prevailing winds by the Cairngorms, Glenlivet's climate is surprisingly dry and the area remains relatively free from the voracious midges found elsewhere!
The landscape of rolling hills provides excellent walking, mountain biking and horse riding on an extensive network of waymarked trails.

In Winter, downhill and nordic skiing are available at the Lecht and in the nearby Glenmulliach woodlands, while the undulating hills provide challenging cross country skiing. Fishing permits for salmon, brown trout and sea trout are available locally and there are golf courses at Dufftown, Grantown on Spey and Nethy Bridge.
